11/13/03 The New College
Democrats is founded during a reorganization meeting at New
College's student center. The new club begins work on the December
4 Congressional/Presidential Forum.

11/20/03 The constitution of the
New College Democrats is ratified, marking the official re-founding
of the organization.
•
12/04/03 The
Presidential/Congressional forum is held at Sudakoff Center.
Over 100 people including many members of the community come to
hear from the three Democratic Congressional Candidates including
C.J. Czaia, Jan Schneider, and Floyd Winters. Also speaking
is Faith Fippinger on behalf of the Dennis Kucinich campaign.
Other presidential candidates were represented by students.
Following the forum, the New College Democrats elect officers to
lead its efforts in 2004.

02/09/04 Our "Late Voter
Registration Drive" registers over 50 students in time for the
presidential primary at Hamilton Center and the
Library.

03/08/04 Presidential candidate
Dennis Kucinich speaks via teleconference to almost 200 members of
the New College community. Mike Belle, Nina Burwell, Fred
Strobel, C.J. Czaia, and Floyd Winters all spoke at the event at

Democrats hold a peace rally to commemorate the one-year
anniversary of the beginning of major combat action in Iraq.
Almost 50 people attended throughout the day, including many
members of the community who brought and made signs on site.
Members of the community heard from Floyd Winters, Nina Burwell,

03/30/04 The Congressional Debate
and Forum is held at Sudakoff Center. Over 200 people
including many members of the community come to hear from the four
Democratic Congressional candidates including C.J. Czaia, Christine
Jennings, Jan Schneider, and Floyd Winters. The event is
videotaped and broadcasted live over the internet (with 25 live

forum of candidates running for Florida's U.S. Senate seat. Mayor
Alex Penelas shows up and is endorsed by the New College Democrats,
while other candidates send representatives. Over 100 people
get a chance to ask questions from Mayor Penelas.
